Fall is by far my favorite season. I love the cool, crisp air. I love the final burst of color from the mums and seedums in my garden. I love seeing the changing leaves: gold, crimson, yellow, orange, and finally brown. The crunch under my feet brings me back to simpler times. I will go out of my way to stomp some leaves and kick them around. I like the newness of spring but my hayfever makes that time of year no fun for me. In the fall I can enjoy the outdoors without the runny nose and itchy eyes. I love layering on sweatshirts to go for walks. I really like it when the hubby and I can get away to the North Country and sit in front of the fireplace. Fall also puts me in the mood for cooking and baking. Chicken Wild Rice Soup, Apple Crisp, Banana Bread, Chili, Rhubarb Cake, Beef Stew, Pumpkin Bars...I like cooking all the time but something about fall inspires me even more. I know this will lead to the cold of winter but I will relish the last bits of life before the snow flies.
